Photo Masks

Our Photo Mask dept specialises in very high resolution imaging onto films and plates, at resolutions of upto 128'000 dpi. Our maskwriter is one of the highest resolution raster imagers available in the world !

The direct write laser imager uses state-of-the-art technology to create a high resolution image, projected through reduction lenses onto the sensitised media. The mask writer is highly calibrated and has a granite bed for accuracy and stability.

Small Features
Features smaller than 2 microns are achievable depending upon the geometry, making this technology suitable for Strain Gauges, Encoders, Hybrid or Microwave Circuits, PhotoMasks etc etc

Fast Turnaround
Because these images are relatively quick to image (compared to normal photolitho/e-beam plotters) we can achieve a sameday return if required urgently.

Glass Masks

These are readily available on Soda Lime glass, with a thermal co-efficient expansion of (50-200Cx10-7) of 93, and a transmittance value of 88% at 375-450nm, with a glass flatness class of 5um. The chrome has an optical density of 3.0 at 450nm, and a reflectivity of 11% at 436nm. Unless otherwise requested, all orders for Chrome photomasks will be supplied with Low Reflective chrome on Standard Spec soda lime glass. We can provide masks on a Quartz substrate if required. If your required mask size is not quoted on the calculator page of this website, please contact us.

Film Masks

No matter what the application, achieving the best possible image is critical. The film image affects the quality of your final output. Without excellent images, you can’t operate efficiently and productively. And of course, bad images cost you money. JD Photo-Tools photomask films provide sharp, high-quality, fine line images as smaller than 5μm.

Films that are not dimensionally stable can’t provide the precision and consistent results that today’s applications – and your customers – demand. The films that our photomasks are supplied on have single-sided gel technology making the films extremely stable. They are 25% less sensitive to humidity compared to other suppliers – giving you an extremely flexible product that is less variable and allows you to work more efficiently.

Our Photo-plotted films, or photo masks, are manufactured onto Agfa 0.007" base high resolution polyester film .
